Dear Neighbours,
Great news! We’ve managed to arrange for the village to have a Christmas tree and now we need your help.
Meadfleet have offered us the money to purchase and maintain the tree at no cost to the village but we need to decide on its’ location. The tree will be a permanent fixture and will be decorated annually by the village children.
Meadfleet have recommended the two following sites as potential locations,
1) Post box – this would need the removal and relocation of some plants carried out by Meadfleet at no cost to the residents.
2) Maltings road – on the green, this would involve the removal of the sign to be relocated within the village (suggestions welcome).
Initially, the tree will have no lights as we need to raise funds for this as a village. We would also accept your kind donations.
The tree will be planted around the end of October (date TBC) and we plan to hold a tree decorating evening with mulled wine and mince pies.
Sean Kelly from the Fountain Head Village Residents’ Association (FHVRA) will be calling round to canvas opinion from the residents who live close to these locations.
As a committee we take health and safety very seriously and alongside Meadfleet will ensure that all precautionary measures are taken including a potential safety fence.
We are very excited about this opportunity and we hope you feel the same. The village is really coming together to celebrate a range of different traditions and we are going from strength to strength. Your help and your ideas as always are really appreciated.
King regards,
Scott Robert, for and on behalf of FHVRA
