About
Who We Are
We are all residents of Fountainhead Village in Halifax, and this site is intended to provide a source of information about the village, the surrounding area and things which affect the residents.
As well as us telling you things, the Association is also interested in hearing from residents with information about your life in Fountainhead so that we can share these with local residents. The best way to do this is either via the contact page or email.
The Full Constitution can be found here.

What We Do
The Association works to a constitution. The general objectives are:
- To safeguard and promote the interest of residents in the area on matters concerning housing and the environment.
- To help to improve living conditions, community facilities and services for residents living in the group’s area.
- In order to do this, we are committed to representing the views of residents in the area known locally as Fountainhead Village.
- To represent members in dealings with other bodies, including but not limited to Calderdale MBA and the Land Management Company (Meadfleet).
- The Group will uphold equal opportunities and work towards good relations amongst all members of the community, specifically prohibiting any conduct which discriminates or harasses on the grounds of race, religion, disability, political belief, sex or sexual orientation.
This policy is updated from time to time and may vary.
Voting and canvassing opinion
We represent the village as a whole and the individual needs of residents and, from time to time, will suggest initiatives to gauge their popularity or viability. This is the process we follow.
- Polling or ideas can be carried out in whichever manner the committee feels appro.
- If an initiative is deemed worthy by the majority of those responding to the poll or vote, it may be tabled at the next committee meeting, the vote of which is final and binding.
- Objections to the tabled motion can be objected to via email to FHVRAmail@gmail.com or presented in person at a sanctioned committee meeting.
- The committee will unless there are extenuating circumstances, vote with the majority of the residents.
We are not the final arbiter on all things and must adhere to local and national law, and a decision can be challenged by escalating it to the local council.
Complaints and Objections
We understand that we cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time, so we have adopted a complaints process documented below.
- All complaints about the FHVRA, its officers, processes or tabled motions should be emailed to FHVRAmail@gmail.com or presented in person at a sanctioned committee meeting.
- We don’t accept anonymous complaints or from non-residents.
- All issues are documented and by making a complaint, you are consenting to our use of the personal data in whichever manner we see fit to deal with the issue, including but not limited to passing details onto a relevant 3rd party.
- Contents of complaints are a matter of public record and may be debated in a public setting unless specific data protection exists that prohibits this.
- Complainants must be over 18 years old and the primary or joint householder.
- We commit to respond to complaints within 28 days
- As a complainant, you have the right to retract a complaint at anytime prior to the following committee meeting.
- Note: The Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/162757720832138/ is not under our control, and we cannot accept complaints about this service and refer you to the group administrators or directly to Facebook
- Committee officers not carrying out FHVRA business are exempt from this process
- Abusive or offensive language, harassment, bullying and general discourteous behaviour will not be tolerated by anyone (officers or complainants) and may result in exclusion from the FHVRA, its meetings and voting
